Ohio Tower Falls in Wrong Direction During Demolition

What was supposed to be a routine demolition ended in near disaster when a 300-foot smokestack fell the wrong direction, slamming into a power station and sending smoke and debris towards the large group gathered to watch the demolition. A path had been cleared for the tower to fall East and the explosives were set to make that happen. However, an undetected crack in the smokestack apparently caused it to fall off course to the Southeast, missing the cleared area and slamming into a power station (and power lines) causing 4,000 people in Springfield, Ohio to lose electricity. Luckily, no one was killed in the mishap. Here’s video from the Associated Press of the demolition gone wrong…
